Each week we'll be adding one new step to our program of changes or additions or subtractions in your eating habits, your exercise (or lack of) routines, your working habits, your socializing (or lack of), your pride in your achievements, or how to attain it. Plus a surprise or two.

How can you lengthen your life by ten years?

Here's how: 
On Week 1 you make this decision:

On Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I will convert
one hour of TV-watching-time into walking-time.

It's that simple. Almost. 

You just have to get up and go out, summer, winter, spring and fall. 
Make it a habit, a part of your routine. Even if you've tried and failed in the past, you won't fail now, because you'll remember why you're persevering.You're doing it for You. 
You'll be preventing heart disease, cancer, diabetes, broken legs, glaucoma, macular degeneration and a whole bunch of other problems that thrive on poor circulation. You'll even be preventing Alzheimers and forgetfullness by giving yourself new brain cells! And best of all, while getting stronger, more fit with each step, you'll be adding about ten more years to your life -- healthy years!

Tips:
You're more likely to carry out your program if you have a buddy -- 
partner, sister, brother, friend -- to go along with you, but even on days when they can't, you can.
It's a plus if you can walk in an area with fresh air. And a woodsy area (if it's safe) or a park with some nearness to nature provide a getting-away-from-it-all feeling that may give you new ideas, a new perspective, as well as relaxation.
